  1. The Indian Archery team won 11 medals, including six gold, one silver, and four bronze and secured second position in the medal tally in 2023 World Archery Youth Championships held in Limerick, Ireland from 3-9 July, 2023.
  2. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification declaring that the import of potatoes from Bhutan will continue without the need for an import license until 30 June, 2024.
  3. In a remarkable achievement, India won four gold medals and topped the medals tally for the first time at the 34th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in Al Ain, UAE from 3-11 July, 2023. This is the first time India has turned in an all-gold performance.
  4. SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited (SBICPSL), the country’s largest pure-play credit card issuer, has appointed Abhijit Chakravorty as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
  5. Secretary of Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, V. Srinivas launched the third edition of the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) Portal to show the performance of States, UT’s and selected Central Ministries in delivering e-Governance services to citizens.
  6. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has given its approval for the construction of two ‘Obra D’ thermal power projects in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, a move aimed at providing cheaper electricity to the people of state.

  8. China has released its first homegrown open-source desktop operating system, named OpenKylin, as the country steps up efforts to cut reliance on US technology.
  9. India and the United States recently conducted Operation Broader Sword, a joint multi-agency operation aimed at preventing the illegal shipment of pharmaceuticals, devices, and precursor chemicals through the International Mail System (IMS).

  13. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
  14. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) was awarded the best member federation in Asia by the Asian Athletics Association in Bangkok.
  15. Indian para-shooters Rudransh Khandelwal and Nihal Singh won the gold and silver respectively in the P4 Mixed 50m pistol SH1 category at the World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cup on 10 July, 2023.
  16. Nirmala Buch, the first and only woman Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh passed away on 9 July 2023, at the age of 97 in Bhopal.
